Sooo yeah I've been cutting some calories and increasing my cardio..

And then started to have fantasizes about

Meatloaf...

No I never made meatloaf....but my roomie is pretty good at it..

I'm hardly a chef or a grill master or even a cook..

But I'm not incompetent..I make a damn good burger for example.

So I thought my roomie could coach me through the meatloaf making process...i.e. she would be showing me how to do it.

But she was sorta hands off...my night to cook..

And there still is a huge difference between someone watching you do it..

Vs doing it themselves because they grasp things like consistency.

Anyway she adds pork to her meatloaf???

And either I got the wrong type or didn't mix the pork and Hamburg together enough...

But yeah finally bit in the meatloaf after cooking the 2lb sob for 1hr and 1/2 it seemed...

And I mostly tasted a too sweet glaze on top of a " pork" loaf...
Cause that is all I was getting hints of...

I now know what chef Ramsey means when he says things like he can tell when something was frozen vs fresh or there is something off in the dish..
Cause I think that pork was off...

Worst meatloaf ever....and now I gotta get back on the diet and face a freezing cold monday...

Well at least I don't have to make meatloaf again...

What a crash and burn meal..

I'll think I'll just stick to the rotessary chicken and rice

Yeah, pork is mixed with the hamburger when making meatloaf. I'm not sure of the proportions, but I think it's a little less ground pork than hamburger.

My meatloafs usually turn out to be a bit crumbly, and not all that firm.

Absolutely.....some got it....some don't.....I damn sure don't but I love it when I find one made by someone that does.
